I would like to get some input about cooling.

How important are the cooling flaps and thermostat. I now have a 1914cc for the dune buggy (obviously no heating system in the car) and am wondering if all the tins are in place if it is ok to run with out the fins/thermo. I understand they are in place to help the engine warm up then open to help the engine cool.

Any incite on this would be greatly appreciated.

as history has shown any deviation from the factory set up will result is a rise in operating temp. the flaps deflect the air to where its needed

I think that bridge has been crossed.

There are 2 schools of thought here.
1, that the German engineers put them there for a reason. They are required.
2, that removing them means there's one less thing to go wrong.

Thanks for the incite.

I will try and track down some fins but I will not worry about running it for a while without them.

I will however manufacture a set of these "Industrial Tins" since I am using J-Tubes.
