Cancelled the storage policy and put the Westy back on the road, (legally) then went for a 25 mile road test. No more leaks - oil or exhaust, beer time.

I got sick of the cargo doors rattling and making an already noisy bus even worse. I had some foam rubber floor mat things that link together... I don't know what they are called.

Anyways, I cut one up into half inch strips and put them around the door TEMPORARILY until I get some $$$ saved up for new seals. Mounted them with double sided tape so they will stay in place and remove easily.

Looks kinda ghetto, but it is quieter for sure.

Pulled piles of parts out of the '77 Scirocco and jiggled some wires on the engine. Started some casual cut polishing on the '76 to make it look better.

Smooth paint = better gas mileage and higher speeds? Laughing

Drove it, then re-realized I have to put the engine compartment sound-deadening panels back in there. What!?!

Then for fun and because I was bored, I powder coated a couple Hazet wrenches from the tool kit in the bug. Now I have to do the rest of the tools in there that were originally black.
