I thought I would be done a year ago. Who knows life gets in the way, new house, dog, kids etc all slowed progress. Seeing how fast you guys are moving is really motivating me. I have lots of plans but it would be great if I can get the metal work finished this winter, media blast entire bus, prime, and paint this spring or summer. I would eventually like new suspension, big motor and restored interior but I was thinking if I could get it painted and back together I could enjoy it in the summer then do the suspension over next winter, and the interior maybe year after that. I will likely never be finished with the upgrades or mods.

My overall plan is for stock paint colours. I also plan to paint the entire underside and interior sand green. This light colour will make it real nice and bright to work under the bus over the years. For suspension looking at straight axle with offset plates and spindles and beam up front, maybe air beam with bags in the rear. Likely do a stock or stock inspired interior (soft green) and for an engine some sort of stroke or T4. For wheels maybe stock two tone crows feet or dials, or torkers, (dark grey) or who knows.

I really like panels and was also playing with the idea of tinting the side and rear windows green so they blend in with the paint and give a bit of a panel illusion. I am undecided on safaris or not.

I said a lot any opinions ??

Reuben

Getting pretty motivated, I repaired the dash with my donor piece and installed seat belt shoulder mounts front and rear. Also ground down door patch .Real happy with the dash got it in straight should come out great. I have decided to order some classic fab door repair parts so will move onto the left side for now. Oh yeah I also upgraded some of my tools. Got a great deal on a used Mig, 60 gallon compressor, and parts washer.

Had a 5-6 inch porsche tachometer in it. Still have it might be worth some money. The new welder kicks ass on my old one. Much cleaner welds with better penetration. Just a lot smoother. Kind of regret all the work I did before but did the best I could with what I had. A little experience goes a long way too. This bus will be good...the next one will be even better. Ground down the dash welds tonight, will need almost no filler. Any progress andrew ??

Yeah, I plan to get the body done and then drive it again, I will complete the other upgrades as an on going project. I think if i tried to get it all done at once I'll never get to enjoy it. Last night I finished cutting up the drivers side, removing all the old rusted stuff. Now to fit and weld in some new parts.
