Hi VW fans!

I'm hoping to find out which auto salvage yards on Vancouver Island have VWs.. air cooled...

Wades auto wrecking has about 4 bugs, and 3 vw vans (2 are campers and 1 is simply a bus)... Malahat has about 12 vans (mostly campers) and about 6 bugs, and 1 karman ghia.

Where else on the island would I be able to find old vw stuff? I need some interior camper stuff, a windshield for a bay (i hear they're not cheap for new ones), and same with a rear 73-79 bus bumper.

cheers!

Malahat only has 6 Bugs? That's sad...I remember when they had row after row of them to rifle through.

Have you called TomCat?

yeah, I remember about 10 - 12 years ago, and Malahat had tonnes of bugs and vans... a half dozen rows of each at least. Now they have 2 half rows of vans and a few bugs on the side... the guys was telling me most of the hobbyists are now gone (the new cars aren't as easy to work on as they used to be for the average guy) and now most of the parts they get requests for are mostly such things like ICBC claims, etc, and they have to be able to warranty the part. The old stuff is just there, he was saying, for guys like me to look through. Eventually, they'll all be gone.

I would totally start an old VW air cooled only junkyard if I had the money and the place to do it. I think you could get away with it in the southern island, except maybe for the humidty and the rot you'd get as a result. too bad... there must be some good ones in Arizona, Nevada, California... now that would be a road trip!

Theres this place up island..... Country Volks, I beleive it's called Razz

Actually.... my dads collection is kind of mostly in part-form right now. He does want to collect up some more part cars.... mostly busses.

Anyone know of any free, dead VW's that need a place to live and be useful?

He's looking for anything aircooled. The older the better, but even the worst shape baywindows make good storage sheds once the good parts have been picked.

Or guest cottages, depending on how much you like your guests.

Do you recognize the defining characteristics of an car salvage yard? Perhaps you envision it as a widespread junkyard. The specialists at High Point Auto Salvage want you to recognize the distinction between the two so that you can find the first-class deals on used vehicle components. Proudly serving clients inside the Triad Area, NC, for almost 35 years, this circle of relatives-owned and -operated commercial enterprise gives a diffusion of used vehicle components, truck elements, and automobile recycling offerings. Read on to find out what sets an car salvage yard other than a junkyard.

Auto salvage yardThe number one distinction among car salvage yards and other forms of junkyards is typically associated with what they maintain on the premises and the way they take away vehicular materials. Salvage yards spend money on vehicles that no longer run or are irreparable, and they regularly gather these cars from auctions. After examining them, they then sell every wrecked automobile component by component, Delta Car Wreckers. As a patron at an automobile salvage backyard, you could browse the cars onsite and select the precise elements you need, buying them at a fraction of the value at which conventional car part shops could listing them.

As the automobiles on a salvage backyard are completely picked in their purposeful parts, their metallic remains could be overwhelmed and bought to recycling facilities or refineries. Auto salvage yards are also quite eco-friendly because they recycle gasoline and motor oil from these vehicles. Whereas conventional junkyards simply function pile-united states of americafor broken vehicles and vans, car salvage yards are a whole lot extra organized and dedicated to reusing and conserving the sources made available through wrecked vehicles.

When you want a deal on completely purposeful used car or truck components, test out the expansive inventory at the High Point Auto Salvage yard. Give them a call at (336) 889-9062 today to speak with a helpful customer support representative approximately a way to order components or sell a vehicle, and visit them online to study extra about their many products and services.
