So after a few months so searching with lots of results but little success, I have finally found myself a Karmann Ghia Coupe! In my budget and in the condition I wanted... not too shiny and not too rusty. She is mostly complete, in need of an engine, gauges and good clean up.

I also lucked out and found a 1600 CC Dual Port engine on the forums and got it today (Thanks Brent!).

My plans for the Ghia is to get her home in October. Repair her structurally and cosmetically before getting the engine in. I would like to have her running before the end of October and before it gets too cold outside I am going to to sand her down and put her in primer until I have more time to work on her.

I have two other projects that are ahead of her and she will have to wait a little bit.

My final goal for the KG is:

Put her back to her stock colour (I think it is cherry red)
    change her rims to Fuchs
    get her classy bumpers

I'll update this as everything comes together.

Christopher

As of Wednesday this week she will be home in Victoria. I am considering changing the 1600 DP to a 2187 DP from CIP1.

rust repair, put in primer and get her drive-able. My panel will be finished next and the SC will be done last due to the modifications I am planning. I want to get these all on the road, so I can get my 1949 Hudson in the shop since it needs a lot more work.

now that is funny... because that is the exact car I own. The guy still has not taken down the advert. As for parts they are much harder to find for the 49' Hudson.

Got her home today and now my work space has shrunk by a ghia. However I have already order all my reproduction sheet metal, lights, gauges and there is that 1600 DP ready to go in.

Compressor stand almost done fabricating. Then once it is plumbed and wired in, I can start the rust repair on the ghia. Found a set of used Ghia bumpers on The Samba too. Hopefully I get her going this week... hopefully.

then onto my 58 Bus Smile

Art - probably not. I am more into Bus's and Ghia. I am kicking myself still a bit after missing out on a free 28' sailboat on used vic.

I missed it too Art. I was gonna go take a peek at it on Wednesday evening. I guess I should have called in sick and showed up at his doorstep with 750 in hand. Oh well... Confused
