Hey all!

I have the old coke bug and she's all charged up and turning over nicely, I have new gas in her, gas pedal is no longer seized, and trying to get her started. The oil is a black as night.

Gas is getting back there as I keep flooding it, but she won't fire. What would be the most effective next step? Check coil? or should I be checking all the wiring first to make sure all is attached and nothing is broken.

Have yet to pull filter off and check carb to see if butterfly is actually doing something.

Fuses are good.

Any tips would be great!

Take a multimeter or a test light to the coil and see if you have power. If yes continue on your way to checking for spark. If no, well the. Your issue is else where.

Make if there is power, pop the cap off and make sure the points are opening/closing and the little wire for the points is not grounding against the dizzy.
