Good day all! Have been a member here in past with my well known 66 coke bug. So after being out of the scene a while I am considering a volksrod because I LOVE the look!

Has anybody here ever had one all fenders off and if so, did the po po give you any trouble?

I see rat rods around fenderless and Manx buggies and T buckets but never a volksrod. Donít want to go to all the trouble and then fight to keep it on the road.

Any and all input is appreciated!

A street rod would definitely be illegal. I had my inspectors licence for years and it would fail for
1) illegal modification requiring inspection to re- certify
2) would fail inspection for lack of wheel cover/ fender.

I don't know how the old street rod guys get away with any of they're modified old American cars. It seems that older guys who look to have money seem to get a break or something.
I saw a Barrets car get passed with shaved door handles, heavily modified body amongst other things. But the guy paid $80 000.
All you can do is drive it and hope not to get a notice and order.
