Hi I am new to Volkswagen and I bought a off road dune buggy and im looking to make it street legal. I was just had a few questions about getting it on the road. It have a custom made pan so i dont have any vin anywhere. Also i know you need fenders Lights etc. But i was wondering if i could run it without a windshield. Also i dont have a e-brake but i have steering brakes i could modify to stay on. I have a plastic fuel cell on it would that be legal. Thanks in advance for the help

with no VIN, it's pretty tricky.

you will need to contact ICBC and figure out what category you will go in. (home built, kit car, etc). i think there are 4 options. you will only fit in one.

you weill need to get your car weighed by a certified govt person. icbc or your insurance broker can help you find them.

i needed a full structural integrity test (and alignment). Don't under estimate this step. It cost me a lot of money and time (~$800)

here is one piece you will need to pass:

for more detailed info - see the actual MVA
