i have a 1968 vw beetle.
i need a person who could install a stereo fairly cheaply.

i have one head unit, one amp, 2 six inch speakers and one bass tube.
it's quite a lot of tedious work but i'm hoping that there's an enthusiast out there who might be able to help. i'd like to spend about $200. if there is anyone out there willing to take this job on please call me on 604 730 5750.

many thanks.

604 area code = you're in Vancouver? or is that just your mobile number? Most folks on this forum are in Victoria.

Your local radio/stereo hut, shop, install depo can't be charging that much for a install of your own equipment...buy your wiring from them and pay for their time...I can't see that costing much more than $200.

Make it easy for them and remove you passenger seats and carpet.

Lets hope your setup will not draw that much power from your battery and that you are running a good high powered alternator compaired to a stock generator.

Not too many shops are keen on Beetle installs but years back I had "Noise Boys" in Vancouver to a insane install on a 69' I owned.
Some gear I owned already and some I bought from them. If they are still around look em up in the book and go see em.

Good luck.

nineteen - thanks a lot for your reply.

all the shops i spoke to said it would be around $350 and i figure there has to be someone who could do it for $200?

thanks for the heads up re. removing the seat and carpet.
also the altenator situation/problem.

thanks again!
