2012 388 Pete rolled over with loaded 40000 lb trailer son and I rebuilt cab/hood with new aluminum and painted pearl white with blue/gold ghost flames on hood. I removed DPF,DOC,EGR and SCR on the Cummins ISX replumbed everything, added 6" stacks and reworked the ECU to accomodate the deletes and remove the derates. The engine produces 2250 ft/lbs torque and is up 2 gears pulling the Malahat loaded and now burns 1500 bucks less fuel/month on an average 300 mile day.No wonder all the truckers are going broke with the EPA shit under these new trucks,It has a VW cigarette lighter

Any highway truck built after 2007 was equipped with a DPF and a burner (deisel particulate filter) huge ceramic honeycomb can downstream from the turbo to trap exhaust particulates when the differental pressure got high the ECU would tell the burner nozzle to saturate it with deisel and burn the shit into smaller particles by the same token if it ceased to work the EGR would derate the engine by blowing exhaust back thru the egr cooler into the intake. After 2007 a huge restrictive SCR(like a big catalytic converter) was added down stream of the burner with the addition of a tank of DEF fluid(ionized water and ammonia) this dosing is monitored by a NOX sensor at the SCR outlet. You can't run a truck in certain states without this shit and it is illegal to remove it BUT how does burning an extra 1.5 GPH of deisel to blast it into a smaller particle and then litterally pissing on it with the DEF fluid equate to less pollution? It doesn't but the EPA made it legal The dealers, shops, and oil companies love it. CAT has so many lawsuits over this shit that they are no longer building their own engines. The programming is buried so deep in the ECU that you can't just rip shit out without a total engine failure or total derate. The Big Cummins ISX 15's are the hardest ones Ive done so far.The gains are huge when it's all gone with no more downtime. The big Cats with the twin turbos need a boost guage/pyro for a green driver when the EPA shit is gone
